On September 14th, 21st, and 28th 2010 the Episcopal Counseling
Center will be conducting a three session seminar program on Parenting
Without Pressure, as authored by Teresa Langston, at the Diocesan Office
conference room located at 1017 E. Robinson Street, Orlando, Florida
32801. Certificates will be provided for attendance at both sessions.
The cost is $70 for for all three sessions which will
be held from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. -- seating is limited.
We will examine the realities of the home situation.
Learning to use the Parenting Without Pressure (PWOP) program and
workbook to develop logical, appropriate and individualized parenting
strategies of rules, consequences and incentives.
Parents will also learn the importance of establishing and maintaining
family structure and practical win-win discipline techniques to teach
children the concepts of > accountability, responsibility and behavior
consequences.
We will address the arbitration process, the
cornerstone of the PWOP program, and demonstrate techniques for parents
to learn to teach their children basic problem solving skills; positive
communication techniques and common sense ways to eliminate everyday
hassles in the home. We will
also examine the emotional and psychological aspects of adolescence and
enable parents to learn practical ways to enhance their children's self
esteem. At the conclusion of
the program we will examine the importance of unconditional love as
parents explore avenues by which households can become positive and the
family can be celebrated.
