Conference Description:
Sudden and traumatic deaths bring a type of personal
traumatization that complicates the mourning of the bereaved. This detailed
workshop analyzes the phenomena of complicated mourning in general and then
focuses specifically on sudden and traumatic death as a precipitant.
Synthesizing and integrating the fields of both thanatology and traumatology,
Dr. Rando provides rich and practical clinical information to enable the
participant to develop a framework for traumatic bereavement after sudden
death and a well-grounded approach for intervention

working with survivors of deaths from acute natural causes, accidents,
disaster, suicide, homicide, terrorism, or war - nurses, social workers,
