Brian Murray
Student Intern

Brian grew up in Neptune Beach near Jacksonville and moved to Orlando in 1988.  Soon after moving to Orlando he joined the Army and later returned to make Central Florida his home in 1993. Over the next 18 years, Brian’s career involved working for various companies ranging in size from large Fortune 500 Corporations to locally owned businesses. Brian recognized through his career that building relationships with people was one of his strongest attributes. This attribute also carried over into various church ministries such as serving on the Vestry at St. Johns Episcopal Church in Kissimmee. It was during this time that he recognized his calling to work in mental health counseling.

Brian decided to return to college in 2008 finishing his Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management with a minor in Behavioral Science from Palm Beach Atlantic University where he continues to work on his Masters in Counseling Psychology graduating in May of 2012. Brian’s area of work with clients includes substance and behavioral addictions, anxiety, depression, anger management, spiritual conflict, relationship and career issues.

Brian’s hobbies and interests include kayaking, fishing, camping and hiking. As an outdoor enthusiast, he often attributes being with nature as a form of therapeutic healing that he often recommends to others seeking treatment. Brian is married to his wife Lisa of 8 years and has a daughter and two step sons.
