Barbara earned a Masters Degree from the University of Central Florida in 1984. Her Doctorate in counseling and psychology was awarded by Mississippi State University in 1995. She has over twenty years experience as a clinical Mental Health professional in Central Florida. Barbara joined the Episcopal Counseling Center in December of 1997. She works with individuals, couples and families dealing with life challenges and transitions. Presenting areas of focus include family issues, self-esteem, anger management, anxiety and depression, grief and loss, communication and relationship difficulties, matters of spirituality and aging. Another branch of her expertise is working with pre-martial couples as well as the developmental issues relating to adults and to families of older adults. She holds national certification as a Gerontological Counselor from the National Board of Certified Counselors. In time of crisis, she is certified to provide Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) debriefing. Barbara is a Clinical Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and a member of the American Counselors’ Association. She has served as adjunct professor, provides in-service training and consultation, and has presented at professional, state and national conferences. Barbara and her husband Bruce, are active members of All Saints Episcopal Church in Winter Park. They are the parents of two and grandparents of four. |
